In 1981 Peter Herrera joined with Kim Parker in founding Kim Parker Plantscapes, Inc. Part of their Mission Statement was to use sub-irrigation technology to benefit, not only the interior plants they maintained, but the environment they lived in. It was their desire to extend the plant maintenance interval from 7 days to 14 or 21 days with no harm to the plants. This concept made a huge difference in their bottom line, as well as less vehicle overhead and less plant replacements. They experimented with several products, some that were watertight and some that were not.
In 1986, after severe damage to an oak floor, Peter realized the industry could use a positive method of waterproofing planters. With some research and development in the field the NoSweat! WATERPROOF LINER became a reality and has proven to be the easiest with the least time consuming to install and absolutely the safest and cheapest insurance you can buy against water damage.
In 1998 Peter was inducted into the California Interior Plantscape Association (CIPA), now the Plantscape Industry Alliance Hall of Fame.
And now the good news! NoSweat! WATERPROOF LINER has finally moved into the 21st Century and can now offer the first improvement in the concept of water protection in the past 10 years, the NoSweat! Invisible Pouch. Once it's in the pot, it disappears and is perfectly suited to use with the latest sub-irrigation innovation available, the Joey Pouch.
